4 injured in shooting at Timberview High School in Arlington

TIMBERVIEW HIGH SCHOOL

Four people were injured and three were taken to hospital in a  Texas high school shooting on Wednesday, police said. Kevin Colby, Arlington's deputy police chief, said the shooting took place in Arlington, on the second floor of Timber View High School. He said officers received a fire call around 9:15 p.m. 

Colby said "at least two shots were fired" and at least two people were injured. Police Chief Tracy Aaron said Wednesday morning that some of the victims in Mansfield, Texas were "already in the operating room." Old student Timothy George Simpkins as  "interested person" in the shooting and said he was using a silver dodge clip. 

Colby said officers suspected the shooting took place when a student “got into the fight and pulled out a gun.” It didn't. an act of occasional violence. It's not someone attacking our schools, ”Colby said. Colby  said one of the injured was “an old man who could be a teacher. "We are saddened by anyone who has been touched or beaten in any way," Greg Abbott, of Texas, said at an independent press conference on the Mexican border. 

Officers could not tell how the student entered the building. Students and staff were initially locked in their classrooms and offices, but the building was declared "all vacant" on Wednesday morning, the Mansfield Independent School District said in a statement. Men's  Independent School District Police Department,  Grand Prairie Police Department and  Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Timothy George Simpkins, who surrendered to authorities approximately four hours after the shooting, suffered three serious attacks. 

Police said the shooting appeared to have been caused by a brawl at Mansfield ISD School, and a video circulating on social media shows the two boys arguing in class, although police confidently said. I can't say the footage was recorded on Wednesday. The 15-year-old boy was taken to hospital in critical condition and was recovering in the intensive care unit after surgery, officials said. 

A 25-year-old man has been hospitalized in good health and a  girl, who police say had minor scratches, is expected to be released Wednesday evening. A slightly injured adult  refused to seek treatment at  school, police said.  Thursday classes at Timber View and Early College High School have been canceled. And Thursday. 

Timber View manager James Brown said the team are still planning to play Friday's game at the University of Waco. Arlington Police said they received several calls around 9:15 a.m. regarding the shooting at 7700 S. Watson Road, on  the second floor of the school, and later that morning identified Simpkins as a suspect. Timothy George Simpkins.
